  17. Yes and the Sturmtruppen aka stormtroopers were weathermen not assault unit. Even the English use storming as synonyme to assault. If you want to call it raining cats and dogs rifle, then you're free to do so.

  32.  @CheaplyAnimatedLenin  US Army doesn't count it as an ar because its effective range is too short. Is it over powered smg or weak ar? I'd say it ain't a smg because smg is not universal name. Like in Germany submachine gun will translate to machine pistol, but in English machine pistol is not the same as submachine gun. .30 Carbine is rifle round, it's in the weak end but still. M1 Carbine is not a pistol, so M2 can't be a machine pistol.

  33.  @CheaplyAnimatedLenin  US Army has, but you're right they don't (usually) have that. USA is a weird place. Rifle is a pistol if you call the shoulder stock a brace. Percussion cap firearms are not firearms.

  36. Rifle alone wont give that much direct advantage, but it allow you to use different tactics. Assault rifles are most effective in city fights were you lack the support most. Least effective on an open field. War would have probably end bit later, but with the same outcome.

  37. Also, BAR was meant to shoot on the hip. If you're big guy, you can shoulder it like a real rifle.

  38. Interesting to see how much difference raised sights make. 8x33 is weak round but 8mm AK still have significan muzzle raise because of the shoulder-barrel line.

  41. 90% never left from factory and most were shipped to eastern front. Dunkirk was too early and All Quiet on the western front is not even WW2 movie.
