  1. USSR/Russia was Finland's biggest trading partner. During the cold war, both USA and USSR wanted and needed Finland to be neutral. Nothing will threat Russia from the outside.

  3. No one is going to attack Russia. After the Nazi-Germany was beated, there hasn't been any real threads (Except the nuclear war, but that's special case). Even if the nukes would not exist, the situation would be the same.
