  3.  @Reriiru  Yes and no. Sten and PPS were desingned to be cheap, so that cuts out any exotic and rare materials and that usually also means that it is easy for machining. So basically you look what kind of steel you have and work with it. Steels are relatively cheap. Can you heat treat it? No, then use thicker steel. Barrel, bolt, breach and the firing pin needs most amount of attention, but the rest is not that specific. This is just a quess, but lot of PPS' were made out of USA steel, which should be quite good. Lend lease.
