It has rubber coating on.

Valmet hasn't made firearms for decades. Sako made last RKs and whole production line has been gone for 2 decade. No new Finnish military arms for at least next 10 years if ever. Sako is working on with the new rifle and pre-agreenments has been made, but what will happen in the future is yet to be seen.

R5 is based on Galil which is based on RK62.
3
It wasn't much as reliability issue than durability.
3
RK will be in service up in 2035. FDF/Government knows the last date, but no one knows what will be the next rifle. :/ "future modernization programs redesigned the RK to use either 5.56 or 7.62 NATO." That would be a quite a trick to do just by modding the rifle. You need new barrel and receiver to do that. So basically whole new weapon.

So that guy has almost twice as many bayonets than a Finnish conscript.

Unless someone has very sharp tongue piercing, I can't see how would he get his tongue stuck on a rubber.
2
FDF quickly store all RK76s because the receiver isn't strong enough.
2
Plastic.
2
@JanoTuotanto Because it is milled.
2
@DiscardedGod Probably wasn't stamped either, so completely different rifle.
2
That was M82.
2
@EdwardPCampbell No idea how sounds are used in movies. IRL recording loud noises is difficult. Arnie used a shotgun?
2
2035 is the deadline for RK.
2
@Kesssuli Keep in mind that newes rifle the RK-95Tp is 25 years old. For every now and then FDF sell old worn out rifles. RK will last ~20k-25k shots before the barrel is shot.
2
@viggenguy4411 And for some reasons people don't want to buy expensive weapons when they can buy a lot cheaper weapons.
2
Galil is based on RK62.
2
How many different ammo you tried?
1
That's because it is the same rifle, exept stamped and the video's rifle is 5,56 Nato and has folding stock. RK's folding stock folds different side. Rifles in FDF is knows as RK 62 76 TP. Exactly the same rifle.

Why Finland should had paid anything to Russians? Finland bought license from Poland.
1
Finland bought license from Poland, so why should they pay to Soviets?
1
@darkodjogo96 Yes.
1
Coke bottles have crown cork. Kossu bottle has screw top.
1
@Kesssuli All modernized rifles were good condition (obviously) Buyer pays the modification and shows proof that the rifle is converted to semi-auto. Tests have shown that RK keep its accuracy after 20k shots, but there is always a limit after that things start to wear out fast. What are the exact and important numbers, idk. Many rifles can't handle 20k, so RK's barrel is HQ.
1
@adskafjrufhauäšhlklöjlllhhhui Conscripts are the biggest reason for barrel crown's wear out when scrach while cleaning the barrel. I was talking about riflings earlier.
1
@viggenguy4411 Yes and no. 1k Galil or 3k Valmet/Sako. 30k Ducati or 15k Kawasaki?
1
Milled are made by Sako.
1
How tall you're? Too short stock is not something you heard said about RK.
1
@User_Un_Friendly Any AK and its variant will shoot Lapua ammo perfectly. You must think of old Finnish 7,62x53R that is not very accurate if you use Mosin-Nagant.
1
My guess is no. Tritium is a gas, so you can't really do anything with it except use the sight as a sight.
1
@kwestionariusz1 In which country?
1
So what confuses you?
1
Bit hard to make such video, because RKs don't have wood anywhere. Technically there is one RK with wooden parts. RK54, but that is just Russian AK type 3.
1
Was it the 5,56? Those mags are super rare and even badly modified mags cost alot. Real Valmet mags are hundreds of US$.
