No you tip because it is the thing to do, just like you tip a waiter and they did not have to pay for training, or a bellhop, barista etc.
Does it really lower the cost? Someone must tend the machines, put the cup, bring the drink to the bar, collect the cash etc. Someone must maintain the machine as well.
And the customer will definitely pay for the machine. Meanwhile some bartender is out of a job and that paid training goes to waste. Extrapolate this for every possible job that can be replaced by a machine or program and eventually there are only a few jobs, and a few customers as well.
RIght...doctors are negotiable...lol. When someone has you by the balls, you pay what the fee is or you get no service. If you mean as an employee, you can negotiate but there is also private practice.
My point was service/customer, not employer/employee and yes there is negotiation but sometimes the only bargaining chip you have is to not accept the position. In some cases, the min wage is the only game in town.
