As much as I love VH1, Fair Warning will always be the ultimate VH album and tone for me.

The CBC has a good doc on the history and conglomeration of the industry as a whole. TLDR version is the biz was throwing money into the wind and 10% would make them billions but they wanted a sure thing so they bought everything up, consolidated it and started to create music factories instead of looking for good upcoming acts.

All the people mentioned were still relevant way into their retirement and had careers spanning decades inspiring generations of other musicians...

Agreed! @loveiseternity

Dinosaurs.

No other band had the same impact on the grunge scene, so dark and unforgiving.

Every song is great, even the out of place "So this is Love" which somehow takes a dark turn in the outro and those last two notes... @fredwerza3478

Legit, one of their best songs @MikeDawson27

Can't agree more with this sentiment lol. I used to use an Apple G5 with less than a gig of ram, a single processor and a 50 gig HD and it put my 2010 Apple pro to shame, even with a 2 X 2.4 processor, 28 gigs of ram and terabytes of HD space and a SSD for my OS. And the OS....I miss OS 9...the current OS is shite. And the most frustrating thing is that, outside of the driver for my old Mbox2, ALL of my programs work..except any Apple programs that I had purchased. No more Logic, no more aperture, no more final cut pro.....heck, even PS CS5 still works. No more apple for me.

One thing to note is that "tone" is a mixed bag of attack, sustain, velocity and frequency etc. Heavier strings have a tighter vibration than lighter strings so you can get a lower action without buzz and with less interference from the neck material in the near field response frequencies. It's always a trade off one way or the other.

Love Seal, what a cool guy.

The first bar reminds me of Star Wars lol its nice but I think Binary Sunset is still his best work.

I'm gonna try this with Iron Man from Sabbath!
1
Well...I guess it's okay...I mean it's not the Beat It solo or anything but....

I gotta ask, do the 2 higher cabs really make an impact if they are not mic'd?

Brian Johnson was 33 when he joined ACDC...

Twice I have had the pleasure of seeing Frampton play live. Once at GIT and once at the Universal Amphitheater. He is not only an amazing player and vocalist, his audience skills are unmatched.

This analysis assumes Google as the search engine but most people have shifted to playlists so they search on Spotify and other streaming aps.

Mike Anthony on VHII You're no good, the tone is amazing.
1
I just use my Iommi in a box to get the perfect Sabbath tone.

Sounds more like a horn or sax players phrasing.

Most of this music can't be categorized unless it was a hit then you could say top 40 etc so I can see why the term irks people. On the other hand, all this great music having an actual category might lead a lot of new people to discover some pretty awesome music.

I got to see him play with Spinal Tap of all things lmao, it was for the release of the Break like the Wind album and they played in a small venue at Disney land. It was F'n amazing oml

Eddies "time feel" is his fathers, he plays with that big band swing feel.
