  1. Uber is a monopoly and it seems as though their "employees" rarely make enough money to get by after all the fees. Nothing free market about monopolies, nothing.

  2. Joe11Blue  Uber is worldwide, they collect a fee/percentage and are putting cabbies and their companies out of business. Soon there will be only Uber. What part of this is so complicated? It's not just an app lol, there is a 40 billion dollar company behind it.

  3. Joe11Blue  Taxi services are competitive and the only reason they are going out of business is Uber and regulatory bodies. Uber is operating outside regulations imposed on taxi services thus it can be seen as being cheaper since overhead is lower. But this means a discrepancy in liability since cabs have up to 5 million in insurance for driver and passenger.

  4. Josh McCullough  They cannot adjust their services as they are regulated. Uber is not at present, but soon will be as they are operating illegally. The difference in price between Uber and a regular taxi service is minimal without the insurance and other overhead. Once these come into play, Uber will fail. Uber takes 20% off the top. Add in gas, insurance, upkeep and lease and the drivers are not making much more than regular cabbies.

  5. Joe11Blue  Regulations are put upon them and all competition are subject to the same regulations. BTW Uber sets the price, it has competition that allows drivers to set their own price. I am not blaming an app, I am blaming the douche bags behind it. In any event, once regulation occurs, it's toes up.
