I found the study but under a paywall so I can't verify it in any way but I don't think the mothers wage "decreases", what happens is time away from work has its own penalty. The same would occur if I took a year off work to go to Tibet, I would miss opportunity. And funny that one of the reasons for the pay gap is actually mentioned, men work longer hours. The efficiency factor mentioned in this video is not really corroborated in any way by this talk, not in a way that would give them an advantage anyway. I agree that mothers are more efficient than women that are not but how far does that go and is it even something worthy of mention here?
