  1. Me to! But British calls Normans only those who had come from France in 1066 and took over the whole Britain peninsula. They don’t care that Normans are called so because Norwegians call’s themselves Norman in their native language. Norwegians came to rivers of France and lands of Britain and lived their in many places several hundreds years before 1066... As danish did in Britain and Scotland ... But British historians always cutting of the history of Normans (Vikings) in Europe by at least 300 years... Actually tribes who later will be called Scandinavians moved to that territories coming from Rome Empire in 6 century...

  2. It’s a pity that British historical documentaries about Norman’s are always have a starting point at 1066! The history of Normans in Europe had started several hundreds of years earlier! It could be nice if they could make Norman’s invasions from the very beginning leading to the appearance of Normandy in Goal (France) and York founded by Normans from Norway in Britain...and danish Normans ruling large area s in Scotland already in 8 century!

  3. The same story happened in Russia. Scandinavians started aristocratic king dynasties and formed the state itself. Even the name comes from Norman word means rowing....And around 12 -13 they became locals and their northern roots were forgotten due to mongoloids appearing from Asia and turning Russians east...
