  3.  @KayDejaVu  police don't do much about hit and runs. Plus it's hard to get insurance to repair the damages when someone flees. There have been cases where an insurance company will refuse to pay for repairs..

  4.  @Ironminer97  fyi most hit and runs take forever to do. Getting the insurance will make life easier since the person may flee the country to avoid the charges
