Thing was he had altitude sickness, which is something you don't disregard as something minor. I have lived in Colorado for 8 years and knew how to monitor for symptoms. I never got behind the wheel if I felt dizzy

@robertacanderson it was still negligence on his part. Anyone who has done hiking in places like Colorado will tell you about the symptoms regarding AMS. You can feel fatigue or drowsiness easily which is why they tell you to relax when you descend and not drive immediately

@rubiarobles455 it's called pure negligence and something that he could have prevented. In situations regarding altitude sickness they always tell people not to drive. It can cause dizziness and impair your driving. I lived in Colorado and I always saw how altitude sickness impacted people.

@stuart4341 AMS does not automatically happen out of the blue. People will start feeling nauseous and dizzy when they start going down to lower altitudes. Even before you start driving you cannot feel something is right

@justsomerandomguy4269 again you barely know anything and compare it to something that was preventable. AMS happens all the time even in the US. You go to Colorado and can see a lot of the tourists getting it which is why they always warn people ahead of time

@swallowedinthesea11 by your account if I commit DUI and run you over I shouldn't be in jail

@XMitrilXPL you're a tool. A stroke isn't preventable. Altitude sickness is. It shows symptoms almost immediately and you can tell when you have it.

@brandon515 that lady is a karen and anyone demanding a release needs to be lobotomized. Smh with all the idiots thinking it was fine for this guy to be driving like a drunk
1
@Wizdows still his fault. He could have just taken a nap or just wait until he could have better judgment behind the wheel
1
Nope. This was negligence. Think of driving under the influence because AMS or altitude sickness has the same signs without the alcohol
