  1. If you look at Japanese household culture, most of them have housewives who have to handle all of the daily chores while the husband seldom helps out. Plus, it's not favorable for the woman to have birth while working since they are less likely to have good pay or enough time off to handle the maternity.

  10. Things aren't that black and white. You need to look at how they manage money and it's an adjustment mostly on your end to handle things when they come. Dating and marrying one means sacrificing a lot and plus, if you can't make enough money or have a good job, it's going to be a rocky relationship.

  13. Korea has the same thing: they mostly only allow one citizenship at a time. Some countries have mandatory male conscription which can be a problem since these people would need to pledge their allegiance to one country. Not to excuse Japan for its past but you have to think about the politics of countries that are near hostile ones.

  41. Maybe because it has to do with their laws and their policies. Even if you have friendly relations, one country may have mandatory military service while the other doesn't. For example, do you want someone to have dual citizenship with South Korea and not serve in the military? That would piss off a bunch of people.

  42. The issue is not only in one place. Many developed nations have people who don't want to marry for various reasons. I know females who rather be independent and not have to rely on a man. There is also the fact that cost of living is high and having a child is more of a privilege these days. The issue is very complex and not easy to solve.

The husband ended up taking his own life afterwards. And I know the same case with another pair where the male partner doesn't even work anymore even though he can.
