  1. This could’ve went two ways from the western footage presented which actually looks animated from my viewing screen. So the picture depicts the habit of finger inside the trigger guard. That doesn’t mean he squeezed, it also doesn’t mean he didn’t squeeze by accidental reflex. All we have is footage to exhibit a tendency. On his word he states his finger wasn’t inside the guard & that he only cocked the hammer. Someone should instruct your commenters about the mechanical functionality of the revolver. The finger doesn’t need to be anywhere near the trigger to cock the weapon. Is it possible to discharge the weapon this way by mistake? Yes! If the hammer is drawn & isn’t cocked to catch, then the transfer bar won’t draw up sufficiently to protect the firing pin from the hammer, which is an accident I’ve encountered that I was initially informed couldn’t actually occur. I’ve done this. What we see in the footage is a dramatically appearing aggressive mannered tendency to flick back that hammer. This is why I believe Alec again, because that type of drawback could easily miss its locking by showmanship, thus the hammer releases without the transfer bar being drawn to lock & the gun discharges. When I had an accidental misfire all I was doing was returning the weapon to its hip holster which has a leather loop guard to secure the hammer & entire weapon. That guard flopped in the way in front of the hammer awkwardly on top of the holster which drew the hammer ever so slightly to release & pop. Could’ve blew my foot off. People make bold declarations about the safe reliability of the revolver when the truth is any weapon can surprise you. You might be a super chef & even the simplest knife can cut you unforgivingly if your not careful. Whether it’s a small mechanism or heavy machinery on a job site, we need to be cautious & think things through.
