For decades the state has set about mainly through its propaganda arm the BBC, to change lots of names and expressions so that they fit in with the new Groupthink. A strange campaign for example to call foreign countries or cities by their indigenous names. Burma is now "Myanmar", Ceylon "Sri Lanka" or yet Peking "Beijing". By the way, India should be "Bhaharata" Scotland "Alba" Albania "Skiperiyë" did you know. The French will always say "Angleterre" however.
