  1. Total agreement here. The various restrictions here in Australia have been highly effective at keeping the pressure off the hospitals and buying time to roll-out the vaccines. Hence we had high vaccination rates prior to largely unrestricted spread of the virus which has resulted in lower than expected hospitalisations and deaths. NZ is going down the same route and I wish them every success.

  2. Agree that the restrictions were to flatten the curve but also to buy time to get the population vaccinated thereby further reducing hospitalisations.
