  1. Russia will be defeated and possibly collapse either due to military setbacks or economic turmoil. It has terrible demographics, poor in technology but is rich in natural resources. China needs access to resources and the closest source of those resources is Russia. I doubt whether China would attempt to force access to those resources by military means but rather through economic means. Until Russia collapses China will continue to be ambiguous in its relationship, but clearly it knows that it has by far the stronger economy.
