Just to ad to your list of what earth weapons would be like in an age (Avatar 2 takes place in the year 2170) wen wear able to reach other planets imagine what chemical/biological weapons, genetically engineered weapon organisms, quantum computer AI & autonomous self modifying swarm drones would exist by then (all of witch I've heard are being researched rite now). Edit: plus if earth is overpopulated then it wouldn't be millions of soldiers it would be hundreds of millions of soldiers, for a point of comparison, Over 65 million men fought in World War I, 127.2 million men fought in World War 2 & North Korea's military has an estimated 1.3 million men in it.
