  3. Mid-Continent International (MCI) was the name until the 80's when it was changed to Kansas City International. For whatever reason they kept the airport code initials MCI. Only out of towners call it MCI. The airport is nice in that the terminals are very close to the entrance. Its not very crowded and theres usually not long waiting times. Its just small, boring, empty and far from the rest of the city.
