@darrellbrown8165 That's what happened after the civil war. "They" moved to big cities and were met with extreme resistance to the point the "others" moved themselves and their industries away. And wah-la crime and poverty happened. I do agree that anyone can go outside of town to find a job. That's precisely what I did in my early life but moving up the corporate ladder is significantly more difficult than you know. Being "forced" to work low paying jobs outside of your area isn't as attractive as a life of crime. Furthermore, institutionalized and systemic racism is alive and well and very strong.
