@janephillips3627 I wouldn't think so. With the exception of Philly and Detroit, Chicago is bigger than every city on the list combined. The five or six really bad neighborhoods in Chicago has been overhyped by the media. Comparatively speaking, Chicago isn't as bad as it's portrayed.

Klark Kuller I'm going by the metro area. Chicago has just under 10 million. Philly has around six million and Detroit has about 4 million. I've never been to Philly but Detroit is really bad. Not even just the crime but how trashy major portions of the city looks. Detroit is by far the worst looking city I've ever seen.

@AlexGomez-hd7ji My father is from Chicago. It's basically my second home. Chatham, Fuller Park, West Englewood for those who make a difference from the two. Downtown is not bad at all. I'm sure there's been some kind of crime somewhere but it is very very safe. Downtown Chicago is great!

My passenger tire blew out on the highway the other day when it was -10 and today my driver side tire blew out and all the tire shops are closed. Its 70 degrees now so putting the spare on is comfortable.. actually it's hot. Anyways, thanks for asking 😀

@raynellwelch8483 It ain't the 90's or early 00's. The streets of L A grew up in the shadow of gentrification, being right next to Hollywood and everything. They are used to influencing the whole world. They've moved forward California always does. L A. Ain't like it used to be because they're the first in over half of all of hip hops influence. In other words LA has nothing else prove in gentrification which is why they're the biggest noticable difference

@marthasmadman The irony is I just heard about Little Rock on tv earlier lol. They probably are on the rise in murders but it's a very small city so there's probably not as many people pulling triggers. They're probably in the top 20 though.

@julsteablog3677 Actually most of us fleed to every major city. We fleed from the racist slave owner mentality people in the Jim Crow south. We left to find jobs and equality. St. Louis just happens to have a very high concentration of black people in a very small area. And we all know what happens when a bunch of black folk get together in one place because for some reason black folk don't get along with each other. Most of us aren't like that though. It's just a very small percent of us that make us all look bad.

@AlexGomez-hd7ji Not at all true. Downtown is very clean and safe. Imo it's the best downtown in the country but I've never been anywhere east. But I'm sure I'd pick downtown Chicago over every city here. Probably the whole world.

@ronald6138 North StL Mo is worse. Not sure about the stats but from plenty of personal experiences the north side is far more dangerous.
