  1. How many people have heard of Frederick Jackson Turner, Frederick Winslow Taylor, or Alfred Thayer Mahan? I'd argue that the fact that Mahan has been (or even could be) forgotten is perhaps the most important fact in geopolitics today. The fact that Turner has been forgotten explains why our Space Program started, then stopped. Taylor's spirit is still with us to this day, although it's interesting to see how far back that kind of thinking goes. H G Wells and G B Shaw are also worth remembering, for their influence on political thinking.
