We already have the Welfare State, which is the synthesis of communism and free-market capitalism from the last Cold War. Like most Marxists, I guess the guy didn't get the memo, that game is over. Marxism is a quaint historical footnote, like monarchy. The new game, is a consequence of the Information Revolution -- how do we optimize the generation and distribution of expertise? Championing Free Speech, to allow for the widest possible creation and distribution of information, is going to be as important as championing Free Markets was during the first Cold War.
