"I feel bad for public workers in San Francisco, this has to be 80% of their job" No, 80% of their job is Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion seminars and related tweeting / activism. Which explains how we got here.

Went for a job interview at a startup in the South of Market neighborhood of SF -- had to thread my way through crowds of homeless (and clean my shoes) to get there. San Francisco is a disaster. I can't see how Gavin Newsom shows his face anywhere in the world, much less runs for president. Refuge in audacity, I guess?

The collapse of San Francisco eliminates the need for tech companies to be located in the Bay Area. The whole rationale for why companies could not locate into the less expensive (even somewhat economically depressed,) cities of Central California to allow a much higher quality of life for their workers, was that the executives had to wine and dine their customers and peers at the luxury restaurants of "The City". Now that "The City" has fallen -- and Venture Capital volume has dropped by a factor of 2, to pandemic levels -- the region is primed to go down.

@treelineresearch3387 You still get the dry Mediterranean heat in the Central Valley. It gets to 110 sometimes, but it's much, much cooler in the shade. You're right though, the appeal of the Central Valley would have been much greater when the company headquarters were still in SF. Now that SF has fallen? Might as well just route the water back to the farms, which have the finest soil in the world. Then move the companies and most people, to a state where the laws aren't completely insane. Unless you really can't stand humidity.

At what point can we start saying that there is something completely demonic going on in San Francisco?
