  2. In American corporations, there is always a lawyer who is at a VP level or above. Ostensibly this is to give them the authority to point out what is and isn't legal for the company to do. This gives them an IMMENSE amount of power, because if they can convince the CEO that they're saving them from going to prison, they can effectively control the CEO's decisions. This dynamic was clearly visible on Joe Rogan when Tim Pool took Jack and Vijaya to task. Jack was clearly not the one making the decisions there.
