Now that we've got hunger beaten back, it's one of the only urges strong enough to get people to ignore their moral context entirely. Surrendering to that urge is no more admirable or inevitable than surrendering to physical hunger. "G*y pride" is no more sensible than "Fat pride".

  4. "As long as they had the books, Game of Thrones was good" Eh, maybe not. They had Martin's outline, and I think they followed it faithfully. It just wasn't any good. The reason Martin has never been able to finish the series, is because people detested his outline, and he doesn't have any other ideas.

  6.  @CatotheE  Not the ones based on the outline he gave the showrunners... which is why those books don't exist, and probably never will. The man's a nihilist. As engaging as his prose is, as intriguing as his characterizations, his plots ultimately never go anywhere but death and destruction. No one wants that in a story. We reject it like we rejected Season 8.
