  1. "How do you deal with a bully?" You point him at the other bullies and watch them have it out. If the price of sending Putin off against China is sacrifice of a few provinces that were no more interested in being ruled by Kiev than Kiev is in being ruled by Moscow, and the promise of a Russian sphere of influence in East Turkmenistan, Greater Mongolia, Tibet, and Manchuria, I think that would be a better deal than fighting to the last Ukrainian. Or global nuclear annihilation.

  2.  @fredneecher1746  The DonBas has Russian sympathies. If you'd been tracking the news out of the area before the Information Warriors took over, you'd have noticed that. And, we give Putin an incentive to hold onto (and expand) his Central Asian influence, and to avoid losing his Eastern Asian provinces and turning into a vassal of Beijing. All this began when we failed to keep Russia and China at odds with one another. It's probably not too late; Putin is famously paranoid, and he's already seeing China make inroads into the East.
