"Russia is being pushed back" -- Really? I don't check out the battle lines very often, but last time the canal to Crimea was in Ukrainian hands. Now the Russians seem to have a pretty solid hold on a thick crescent, including that canal -- in fact, including at least twice the territory than just the DonBas provinces and Crimea they would have made peace for, this time last year. How much of the suffering you've witnessed, happened in that time?

It's not very useful to listen to Western news sources on Ukraine. Try to find a news source from a neutral country, and the news won't be so contaminated by Information Warriors.

We've been hearing a lot about "information war", mostly rah-rah boosterism about Ukraine and how they were going to win the war because of the Kerch Strait bridge or somesuch, that has turned out to be bunk. How do we know the stories about Russian atrocities are not similarly bunk?

"Divorce can happen to you" -- And it removes or corrupts all of the paths to healing that you recommend. No fault divorce is incredibly abusive, and should be illegal. "Filer at fault" should be default.

Even talking about it is such a different experience, it's difficult to do so -- especially if the trauma revolves around silence, being handled and manipulated, being lied to and lied about, having the words people say to you simply being a formula for a particular desired effect instead of an attempt to communicate, and finally being stomped flat by those who are silent or lying to you and about you. It's really nice that the world contains people who are not inclined to traumatize you, but the system we've got now has empowered the liars and the abusers (unless you happen to have the resources of Johnny Depp), it almost doesn't matter, when you're told you have to dive face-first into that woodchipper again.

"Play is the opposite of trauma" This is one place that Jordan Peterson falls of a little bit - he talks about how "anything can disrupt the spirit of play". Only, it seems that that isn't true. Is humor, not a sense of play? Look, I've been in no mood for jokes at various times in my life. Years at a time, when it was particularly bad. But the most successful civilizations (the Jews for survival, the British for thriving) seem to have a kind of sense of humor even in the worst situations, that has helped them through it.

@MattAngiono I wouldn't call it ignorance of what happens in Ukraine -- he's more aware than we are, of a certain slice of what's going on -- but his picture is obviously not complete. First they said, "We're pushing the Russians back", then they said, "We're striking deep into Russian-held territory", which doesn't make much sense if they're being pushed back. Intelligent Japanese could tell they were losing the war, when the glorious victories the government was celebrating seemed to creep closer and closer to the Home Islands.
