To what would you attribute the lack of those attacks against the United States, other than the rationale "over there, therefore not over here"?

  6. "People are more interested in being right, than in winning people over" The problem is that "winning people over" introduces a bias towards compromise that is not always appropriate. Compromising with an arsonist and saying it's ok that he can burn down half your house (knowing that he'll be back on a weekly for half of what's left) is basically what the Conservatives have been doing for generations. Predictably, this has not worked. Sometimes, it really is about "win first, win over later."
