Artistically speaking -- conservatives celebrate what is and why it's worth keeping, and liberals explore what could be. The second may well be more interesting than the first. Maybe it's easier to produce conflict that will fascinate, or maybe it's a matter of our culture valuing the underdog. Or it could be that there was a concerted effort by foreign agents to influence Hollywood writers to produce Leftist propaganda, a force that's never really been completely excised ever since they successfully survived (and even demonized) the "Red Scare", despite the fact that much of McCarthy's point of view was entirely true.
