We're in a new Cold War, brought on by the Information Revolution -- Authoritarian Bureaucrats vs. Liberty-Minded Democracy. Instead of material goods, we need to work out what's the best way to produce and distribute the most expertise. The free market of goods was the answer in Cold War 1; the free market of ideas will be the answer in Cold War 2.
