"Modern Monetary Theory" used to be known by the name, "Debasing the currency". 500 years ago, this was known to be so disastrous to economies that the practice of science was held back because alchemists were executed for their metallurgical work. If MMT takes hold and history takes its course, we'll probably see Keynsian Economics become a capital offense.
