  2. Isn't that good advice to give to minorities though, if they want to be successful in STEM fields? There are a number of resources available at very low cost to gain a STEM education, with the lowest cost options being the most self-directed.

  4. A world where mentorship is disparaged, is a world that is vastly poorer. A feeling of responsibility to pass on what you have learned, is an incredibly powerful and useful thing for society. The idea that an honest desire to learn should be met with resentment and refusal on the part of someone who could easily teach, is pathological.
