A couple of points that can add to this debate: - It might be useful to stop thinking of Twitter as an American company, and start thinking of it as an Indian company. The most powerful C-level staffers are Indian (Agrawal, Gadda), and they have influential advisors from India's intelligence community. - India has had problems with rumor spreading on social media, several years ago; it might be useful to bring the details of those events into the discussion here.

@arkamukhopadhyay9111 Sorry, you didn't get out ahead of this story. Links between Twitter and Indian intelligence services have already gone public. Best you can hope for at this point is to wind that down as gracefully as possible. Links with the FBI have already been made public too, and I wouldn't be surprised if there were remaining differences of opinion between Twitter and the Indian government, as there would be with any Indian company. Lots of things can be true at once. It would be far more useful if you could provide us with some details about the rumor problems that India had, with various social media sites, a few years back (or possibly ongoing). I pay attention to some Indian news outlets but there are only so many hours in a day, even at 2x video speed. If there's a real problem for regular people (as opposed to a PR disaster for politicians or government agencies) that India is trying to solve, it would be good to get that out into the open to discuss it, so that we can together come up with a solution that benefits everyone as much as possible. Free speech, and all that. =)
