My lawyer told me that my three sons would go into foster care if I brought up the fact in court that my (now ex) wife had physically abused me. In fact, if I brought up the fact that her behavior towards me had been worse -- actually criminal -- than my behavior towards her (not criminal), I would be seen as "victim blaming", because she had filed first. So, for raising my voice at her (as she did with me), I was the one with the "rebuttable presumption" of being a danger to the kids. It was swiftly rebutted, but you're absolutely right -- there is no justice in the Family Law system. Not for men, of course, nor for the women either, who do not face consequences for their actions.
