"Do you think it'll be easier to get married at 35 than at 23?" For a man? Yes. For a woman? No.

"The political tribes no longer honor one another" Or maybe it's gotten impossible to escape the dishonor. Have you ever read the partisan press from 1800? That hasn't changed much, except in that most people could avoid exposure to those papers simply by not reading them. Media is a lot more invasive now, and "mainstream outlets" have turned much too partisan.

"God needs us to create a perfect world" Eh, the Bible (and experience) teaches us that if we sin the world will be imperfect. It also teaches us (through Job) that even if we follow what we understand to be the Law, we may still suffer in our ignorance of what the Law (logos) is, fully. But if we endure and do not curse God, even what are seemingly the worst sufferings ("imperfections" in the world, beyond our own abilities or even the help of our friends) can be redeemed -- by God.

"That life of moving yourself up in the corporate game is almost nothing" Yes, because getting to that top 1% of the hierarchy (or 0.1%, or 0.01%) is by definition NOT the tale of most peoples' lives. It is mathematically impossible for it to be so. The pattern of a life well lived MUST to be open to 100% of humanity, from the humblest to the "highest". Even scarcity, even difference in ability, every grounds for discrimination (just or unjust) between us, cannot, MUST not, stand in the way of our understanding and honoring a well-played hand no matter what cards you're dealt.

"You don't have to honor your parents if they're terrible, right?" Very few people have no redeeming qualities. If you don't think your parents did ANYTHING right, what does that say about their creation of you? [Edit: of course they get around to discussing this.]

"If we were radically different in our orientation we couldn't even talk" Is this why Kant is impenetrable for the most part?

"God gives Abraham the gift of becoming a teacher to the whole world" Is this why "Rabbi" held to be such a term of honor?

"Part of the liberal point of view is we figure we have to say whatever we're thinking, all the time" HA! or constantly comment on Youtube videos as they're running. ;) Empirically, I should have a little more faith that you guy will get around to saying things I think are worth saying, although it's maybe not so bad that a comments section can follow the roads-not-taken, considering the essential linear nature of a single conversation captured in time.

"Our traditional conclusions about male and female are the basis of reproduction, in case that has to be pointed out" Unfortunately fashion has gotten so stupid that it does need to be pointed out. Although, this is the fundamental reason that this insanity will fall of its own dead weight in the near future. We're not doomed, though, because we'll get the chance to watch other societies -- a bit over half of Europe, almost all of East Asia -- go through demographic collapse in the 2020s and 2030s, while we still have large enough generations to turn ourselves around. The rediscovery of traditional life is going to be painful for some, though. Single mothers will be deprecated again. Careerist women who refuse to have children will be more or less in the same moral category as Ebenezer Scrooge. They'll be the villain in a multitude of stories (and the but in a multitude of jokes) to help get the point across. The faster this happens, the healthier our society will be.

"Young people look at the responsibilities of marriage with terrible fear, like an enslavement" Women know they can't fulfill both the responsibilities of motherhood, and the responsibilities of single-minded careerism, and they don't want to be criticized for failing. Men know that the legal system will crush them if their wives give in to the incentives and privileges it invites them to take. Both our "modern" culture and our "modern" family law system must be upended before young people can carry on the progression of generations with anything like psychological safety.

"Some things, you have to throw yourself into without knowing whether they will work" Jordan, are you so unfamiliar with the word "faith"? [Edit: of course they get around to discussing this.]
