Because it's easier to get rich based on regulatory capture than it is to actually pick stocks that will do well based on good economic performance. See: Nancy Pelosi, et al. In fact -- and this is the most insidious thing about all of this -- it's easier to make more money, because a lot of your competitors are going to be betting on stocks that actually would help the economy (in the absence of government interference), leaving the stocks you're picking based purely on the expectation of future regulatory capture, at a discount. ESG investing is pure corruption. It harms the virtuous and elevates the vicious. It causes famine (and the wars, plagues, and death that follows.) It destroys the structures that billions of lives depend on.
