"He doesn't make a good protagonist, he doesn't grow or change in any way" I've heard it theorized that there are two types of protagonist -- one that grows and changes, and one that is the hinge, the fixed point, that the entire story revolves around. I heard that theorized in a commentary about Captain America, of all places, but if you need something more highbrow you can point to Myshkin in The Idiot as well. He's the catalyst that vivifies everyone he meets.

(For those who don't know many actors, the more lines a part has the better... juxtaposed against playing the literal Lord of Creation, speaking seven of the most studied phrases in the entire Western Canon. OK, now that I've crucified that joke, I'll be quiet.)

"I made vignettes, short movies, like one about the thieves beside Jesus on their crosses, it's where I met Jonathan Roumie" It's hilarious to hear Jonathan tell it. When he was cast in the role of Jesus, his reaction was, "What? Seriously? But he only has, like, seven lines."
