Wellllllll, they may have a point there. "Amok" does seem to be the default position for Scots at times. Why the Scots are putting up with it is an absolute mystery.

@ethanmcquaid1 Yep, the temptation of the Ring was something that turned what was beautiful into something ugly, once its true nature was understood. Galadriel; "You offer it to me freely? "We're being called upon to defend things so taken for granted, that we have no defense at hand." That's one purpose of Liturgy. A liturgy will frequently explain exactly why you're doing what you're doing, even when the words sometimes become more mysterious incantation than meaningful syllables. Seriously Professor, go through the Book of Common Prayer sometime, or the liturgies included in some Protestant hymnals. It's there.

Professor Peterson -- YOU NEED TO TAKE GRAD STUDENTS. Make sure they have a way to make money outside of mainstream academia -- corporate consultancies, an agreement with a place like Hillsdale College to provide them with a living (maybe even take them on through a place like Hillsdale) You have to pass on what you have learned! Even if it takes twenty years for there to be a backlash against what we're seeing (and I don't believe it would be that long) if you could produce five scholars a year for whatever active years you have left, that would go a LONG way to rebuilding our academies!

Intent (in terms of crime) is also forward looking. Someone who did something by accident is presumably (out of goodwill) more willing to be careful next time, while someone who did something out of a motivated bad will, would (obviously) not have that goodwill to be more careful next time. In many ways, the virality of Critical Race Theory is in how it takes ruthless advantage of exactly that goodwill.
