  2. "China can build in a matter of weeks what takes the United States, months or years" Have you ever heard of "tofu construction"? Often, what the Chinese build is VERY low quality. Sam, I asked whether you'd be in favor of turning the United States from a democracy to an empire, for the sake of naval policy; apparently you might like that for the sake of infrastructure policy too, sounds like. That's.... not good.

So Sam, if you figure that a policy of maintaining the US Navy as the guarantor of safety for trading ships globally is absolutely essential to staving off global collapse, but that populists will drive democratic elections away from this, would you be in favor of our elites subverting (or doing away with) democracy and turning the United States into a global empire to preserve that status quo policy?
