"Slippery slope is a fallacy" -- No, it is not. It is a condition, dependent on whether there is pushback. This is textbook Controls Engineering. If you have pushback (a "restoring force") you have a pendulum effect, known as a "stable equilibrium". If you have no pushback, (absent or negative "restoring force") you have a slippery slope, known as "unstable equilibrium".

"People only objected because you lied to them about it" Aaaaaaand this is how they win now -- when you say "oh we only objected because you lied" they say "oopsie" and get to infest your hobby with your approval, mission complete.

When women are included in combat roles, standards go down, because aside from outliers, women (even ones with training) are objectively weaker than men. Look at MIL-STD-1472, "Design Criteria, Human Engineering", which prescribes safe lifting limits for defense contractors to design to. These limits have changed from Rev F to Rev H. In Rev F, there are categories for "male" and "female". Developed to the limits of military training females are 30-50% weaker than males. In Rev H, those standards had been reduced to only the lower female levels. It bears repeating: Including women in military roles causes standards to go down.
