  1. How do you calibrate a measurement of sea level rise? Don't you have to have an accurate geoid model for a baseline, and have we even had one of those pre-orbital spaceflight?

  2. The models are divergent because they seek to model a chaotic process. These models are based on hundreds or thousands of convection cells, which are a textbook instance of chaos -- sensitivity to small changes in initial conditions. Any conclusion based on these models is not reliable.
