@zeenuf00 The problem is that the decision-makers have decided "being nice" involved knuckling under. We need to end the habit of going along to get along. We can get along without going along -- or at least, if we don't get along because we don't go along, we can push the responsibility for that onto them.

@mariaadams7339 I think we should start helping these people psychologically again, figuring out where this delusion is coming from, instead of absolutely refusing to do so. When I listen to conservative commentators say, "drag shows are by nature highly sexualized", I think to myself, "That's not right. What about all the old cartoons and comedy shows where the guy put a ratty mop on his head and a calico dress on, then ran around with a cracking falsetto voice, wagging his finger at people?" If you're a little kid and whether you eat (or get to see your friends, or any other good thing you want) depends on keeping a scolding old woman happy, you could develop a fear of that kind of femininity. An urge to imitate or play-act what you're afraid of to understand it better, is something kids do all the time (pretending to be a roaring lion, or similar.) Fast forward fifteen years or so, and the good thing you want that women gatekeep has changed. The fear and confusion about keeping a woman happy to get what you want, focuses on a different aspect of femininity. So, you see guys resorting to play-acting again, this time of a different archetype. I suspect that "trans" is a type of phobia - fear of the opposite sex, or perhaps fear of being your own sex. (Ellen Page's experiences with Harvey Weinstein probably gave her both.) The tragedy here is, even roleplaying won't truly give an individual understanding of another individual - our consciousnesses are separate. I suspect treating this like any other kind of phobia could lead to desistance (which happens in 90%+ of cases) much more rapidly, and before people do permanent damage to themselves.

I'm starting to think that Abraham wasn't the hero in that one story... God seems to have a perfectly reasonable response to this sort of thing. Admirable, even.

"Terf basically means witch" Nah. It doesn't even seem all that radical, really. Can you actually go be a journalist here, and track down who's insisting on this weird meaning of this weird word "terf"? It would be useful to know where this nonsense is coming from, so we can put a stop to it.

@zeenuf00 You might be right, at least for some people. We need to have a civilization still once all is said and done about this, so most of us have to be civilized about it.

@dirkvanschalkwyk1919 I'm still baffled by the declaration that "there was a terf war, and the terfs lost". Feminists who say "men aren't women tho" are correct, and most people are sane enough to see this as common sense. (It might be the case that radical feminists generally have wrecked their credibility, but in this case they're spot-on.) So to return to my original point -- who is it, exactly, who declared that "terfs lost"? It seems like this chorus of question-beggars needs to be tracked down and exposed, so that basically every sane human can figure out whose input to disregard in the future.

@dirkvanschalkwyk1919 There are certainly examples of politicians making ghastly decisions based on this agenda, it's true. But how and where exactly was this war "lost", such that these politicians felt the need to betray women like this?

@mariaadams7339 Yeah, there can be more than one cause for the effects we see, human beings are complicated. Kind of like how there are over a dozen different viruses (including, interestingly, a coronavirus or two) that cause the syndrome known as "the common cold", or how what we call "autism" is probably a suite of symptoms that show up for a number of different reasons. It makes A/B testing extremely difficult, which would explain why science hasn't found a cure yet.
