  2. At a certain point it really will be less damaging to our society as a whole, if we simply keep retirees quarantined for their own safety, and let everyone else get back to work.

  3. I doubt regulation or government control of the health care system is the answer. Italy had nationalized healthcare, and look what good it did them. There are even regulations in this country that make no sense considering the reality of these pandemics -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Certificate_of_need -- and they're the reason (aside from population density) the NYC is getting hit so hard.
