Another quotable line from T'sao T'sao is, "Better that I should wrong the world, than the world should wrong me" which is a fairly thorough inversion of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". I have to wonder if this is Christian influence creeping in.

One of the "outlaws of the marsh" was warned that the mountain pass he wished to traverse was menaced by a man-eating tiger. In spite of the danger, he got really drunk before crossing the narrow and steep path. I forget whether he slipped and fell from drunkenness or passed out along the trail, but either way, he ended up out cold. He came to, with the hot, blood-smelling breath of the tiger in his face The tiger had pinned his arms and legs. So... ... In spite of a terrible hangover, he proceeded to headb*tt the tiger to d*ath. Because that's just the sort of hero he was. These stories were originally presented as crowd-pleasing puppet shows -- one imagines, much like Punch and Judy.

"It's interesting translating 'iceberg' as 'ice mountain'" Er, you know that "berg" means "mountain", right?
