  2. "You don't want your immune system reacting too violently to the disease" -- It's like the 1918 epidemic. Your immune system makes your nose run when you have a cold. To exaggerate an example to clarify this, if your immune system reacted "too violently" it could create a gallon of snot every minute. (Some of which gets into your lungs and drowns you.) Seriously, look up the 1918 flu.
