  1. The Triangle Trade was not interesting to most pirates. What was interesting to most pirates was the flow of silver from the Spanish colonies (which was what a lot of the Europeans were fighting over, with the Spanish Succession, and it affected European history well through the 30 Years' War). This silver flow ended up in China, where it paid for tea and porcelain (among other things). Along the way it made several places very rich, from Genoa through Cairo, through the Indian subcontinent, rounding Southeast Asia (where it prompted a coastward migration that collapsed Angkor Wat), and finally to China itself. That silver flow rates its own episode, I'd think.
