"Why Ukraine is only the first step in a multi-step Russian strategy" Er, if we stuff the Baltics, Poland, and Romania with the kind of armaments that are giving Russia such trouble now, I don't think the Russians will advance that next step, whether the Ukraine war continues or not. Trade land for time to establish indomitable defense in depth? Yeah. It works, and the Russians know it works. Once they see that, the Russians will know they've lost.
