Comments by "Jim Luebke" (@jimluebke3869) on "The Breakdown of the Republican Coalition (Trump's Fault?) || Peter Zeihan" video.
@pathkeepers Peter is in the Strategy community, which is intelligence-adjacent. And especially now that he's got influence, they're clearly feeding him information they want to get out there. It's still fascinating to listen to him on these subjects, for insight into the ruling classes' assumptions and preferences.

He's at his best when he has actual data to back him up. This is not one of those times.

"The problem is the Republicans don't have as many voters as the Democrats" The "problem" is the business community hardly has any voters at all.

@imixmuan9081 I kind of doubt Vladimir Putin thinks about Peter Zeihan at all.

"Trump has driven the business community out because he doesn't like to be told 'no' or 'yes, but' and all he wants is adoration" I would love to hear some more about the substance of the 'no' and 'yes, but' comments. I suspect that there are a great deal of underlying differences in governing philosophy that are being glossed over in the characterization of this as simply a pi**ing contest here.

"The Republicans don't have as many voters as the Democrats" You haven't been watching the numbers of minority voters who are now in Trump's camp, have you. And how exactly did you miss the fact that the Democrats have at this point completely alienated the white working class, with DEI and green nonsense?
1
"And so now we have the business community totally alienated from the social conservative voters" Um, that's because of specific actions and fads among the business community, which you're just glossing over here. The self-inflicted damage the "business community" has done (mostly, adopting left-wing social issues) to separate themselves from the bulk of the Conservative voter base, my not be something Peter (with his unusual personal life) can actually discuss fruitfully.

Er, what Peter is saying is completely counter to all the recent swing state polls. If the election were held today, Trump would trounce Biden. A lot can happen in the next year, but there is very little that is likely to change this trend.

@fateislosthope How many Republicans actually believe the nonsense media narrative about that? A lot of Democrats don't believe it either. The more they breathlessly ejaculate about January 6, the more other people roll their eyes or back away in disgust.
1
It would be good news, if the fact that they were keeping it secret didn't provide a lot of cover for Democrats to cheat. "Of course the elections were not fraudulent, everyone voted just like they said they would."
1
Zeihan would not be happy to find that if Trump were somehow not running, his voters would go to Ramaswamy.

@SeattlePioneer ... Because their reach and influence is diminishing by the minute, with all the nonsense they've been pushing on us? Americans are getting better and better at spotting bulls**t in our news feeds, pushed on us by powerful organizations that think that just because you can fool some of the people all the time or all of the people some of the time, you can fool all of the people all of the time. Honesty really is the best policy. Things will work themselves out towards that, now that we have so many information sources.

@R.S.4672 Back when the business community was the engine of general prosperity for this country, I could agree with you. It's not that way anymore, though.

If you're someone who believes computer models about climate are capable of making accurate predictions, I'm not sure we can really trust your math.

@kenyoung5604 Wasn't he acquitted, in fact? Twice.

@curious011 Democrats are a purely urban party. If you haven't seen this, what planet are you from?

@curious011 What region are you from?

@curious011 The last stronghold of Dixiecrats?

@curious011 How many people regret voting for Biden in 2020? About 1 in 6 of his supporters said they regretted it, as soon as the Hunter Biden laptop came out. Serious inflation, based to a great extent on our s**cidal energy policies, the war on automobiles (which wrecks workers' productivity and even labor market participation), the fact that Democrats are pursuing strategies 100% opposed to young people owning houses and starting families -- all of these are anchors around Biden's neck.

You need to look into the vote-counting shenanigans in the 2020 election. Not the bulls**t about shootouts in Frankfurt, but the fact that mail-in votes came in from empty lots, and other such instances. "Well, 'A' happened, but not in enough numbers to affect the outcome of the election." " Well, 'B' happened, but not in enough numbers to affect the outcome of the election." "Well, 'C' happened, but not in enough numbers to affect the outcome of the election." But some of us can add A + B + C...

Voting is a right, not a privilege -- the Federal government is obligated by the Constitution to make sure the States have a government based on this right.
