  11. Is the impossible scenario Peter presents for Ukraine blowing up the dam, a distraction from another way they could have done so? Could Ukraine be the one to have mined the dam, perhaps, in the long years they occupied it after the Russians occupied Crimea? After Nord Stream 2, we're justified in being skeptical of accusations against the Russians like this, that they've done something to infrastructure that would seem to be against their own interests.

  12. Question: if the Ukrainians are limited in the troops they can commit to this counteroffensive, are they better off cutting off Crimean Russian troops, and slowly starving / dehydrating them? They would have had to have the foresight to mine the dam themselves after the Russians took Crimea, but they had about eight years to do that.

  13. Are people who heard the lie "Russia blew up the Nord Stream 2 pipeline" unjustified in being skeptical about claims that Russia blew up its own dam? I'm glad that Peter pointed out some evidence for the new claim, but at this point, any sensible people who can think for themselves has to wait for evidence like that to emerge before we believe anything we hear.

  16.  @rositasultana3958  Peter's honest and correct about a lot of things, even if we've learned not to trust some parts of The Narrative(TM). Some of the most interesting information he shares, are the assumptions of the Washington decision-makers. I wouldn't have looked up or given much credence to World Systems Theory if it hadn't been so consistent with Peter's description (and inherent belief in the goodness) of international labor cost profiles, although it was only mentioned by name in the DoD's China Assessment.

  17.  @rositasultana3958  There are personal narratives, and then there's The Narrative(TM) which claims that masks don't work against Covid then they do then they don't, and claims that the Hunter Biden Laptop story was Russian disinformation (except it wasn't), claimed Russia blew up the Nord Stream 2 pipeline (despite its not being in Russia's best interests, and in fact benefiting China more than anyone)... I kind of take it personally when I've been lied to, then accused of being "bot or troll" because now I'm (justifiably) skeptical. That said, Peter's too in love with being right, to tell too many big ol' obvious lies. His ego (and good sense) won't let him be wrong too often, he knows that his whole life comes crashing down if that happens. You have to wonder, though, whether the people he's getting his information from would sacrifice that for their own agenda.

  19.  @Nanamka  A lot of us are just sick of being lied to as a result of the "information War" surrounding this conflict. After Nord Stream 2, we're justifiably skeptical of what we're being told. Does skeptical questioning make us "trolls"? We're supposed to be able to cast votes that determine how involved we get in stuff like this, and being well informed is essential to this. That's what we get from Zeihan -- most of the time. He needs to know he's going to get legitimate pushback, when he's just parroting the party line.

  20.  @bfedezl2018  Well, YouTube has done a great job clearing those sorts of posts out of my comments feed. Only the skeptical posts with intelligent questions are getting through, although they're only getting through in the replies to the comments, not the top-level comments. Funny, that. "You're doing great!" sort of low-effort posts, on the other hand, are showing up an awful lot. The thing is I agree with those, most of the time. When that's all I see at the thread level? It's more than a little suspicious.

  22. Er, most of that evidence was speculation. Could the Ukrainians have been the ones to mine the dam, in the eight years that they held it after the Russia took Crimea? This is just speculation, but then, it's no different than Peter's "evidence".

  24.  @countchoculitis1528  A lot of what comes out of the Information-War-plagued Ukraine is The Narrative(TM), really. Most of what comes out of the legacy media like MS-NBC and CNN is, as well. It's gotten to the point that you have to spend so much time checking the context of those outlets, that you might as well just listen to independent news sources instead. I consider Peter to be one of those sources most of the time, by the way. I'm not entirely convinced that his own sources are entirely to be trusted, though, especially on subjects like this.
