  1. We've had decades of experience bringing Japanese cars into the US, saying that they are "Made in the USA" for various legal purposes. Why can't we do the same with Japanese boats and ships? Our own shipyard industries have been moribund and low-quality for decades now. The Japanese are some of the finest shipbuilders in the world. At least on the surface, the synergies are obvious. As an added bonus, you have said that the Japanese are EXTREMELY keen on keeping good relations with America, to the point of making any negotiations with them "easy mode" for our diplomats. Isn't this an incredible opportunity for us all?
